Why are there skulls in the library?

The annual Day of the Dead [EL DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS] altar exhibit has been set up in the Luria Library.

This exhibit will be viewed by hundreds of guests to the campus this week. The Luria Library is delighted this exhibit as part of on-going cultural programming related to student interests and activities.

Many student groups and SBCC staff members contribute to this extensive and beautiful cultural display, and includes skulls, images, flowers, and other representations celebrating the life of friends, family and others who have died.
