As part of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month we posted the best Hispanic films to watch in 2014. Hispanic Americans have made lasting contributions to the American Film Industry throughout motion picture history. The treatment and portrayal of Hispanic American artists, however, has often not been favorable. Nor has much changed according to the Latino Media Gap Report commissioned by the National Association of Independent Latino Producers, The Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race, and the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts. The power of Latino consumers might be growing, but their presence on and behind the big screen is not.
