National Cyber Security Awareness Month

During the second week of October, Luria Library took to social media to provide tips to increase your cyber security awareness! The Department of Homeland Security has been trying to increase public awareness of cyber security using their Stop.Think.Connect campaign. This campaign is “aimed at increasing the understanding of cyber threats and empowering the American public to be safer and more secure online” (Stop.Think.Connect., 2016).

Here’s a quick overview the tips we offered this week:

Download and install updates on all your devices
Tip #2:
Make your passwords stronger with three random words
Tip #3:
Install security software on your devices
Tip #4:
Protect online accounts with two-factor authentication
