Prepping for Finals

Ready for finals? Don’t panic. Luria Library and numerous other SBCC departments are ready to help you get ready, get through it, and succeed.

The library will offer extended hours in preparation for finals. The library will be open Friday, December 1 from 7:30am – 8pm and Saturday, December 2nd from 12 – 8pm. There will be games, toys, and de-stressing activities. During Finals Week, the library will be open regular hours.

Make sure to take time to de-stress; you will retain information more effectively.

Not sure how to de-stress? The Student Health and Wellness Services has a De-Stress Zone filled with tips on getting you to a relaxed state.

Meditation is something that can be done any time, anywhere, to lower your stress level and improve your focus. There are two weekly, silent meditation groups on campus:

  • Ellen Carey, Librarian, hosts meditation in her office in Luria Library (L-133, next to the Checkout/Reserves desk), Mondays from 10:30-11:00am.
  • Kenley Neufeld, Dean, hosts meditation in his office (A-113), Wednesdays from 9:30am-10:00am.

Yoga can also help! Check out the SBCC Connect Yoga video for a quick 3 minute demonstration on relaxing your mind and body.
