The Santa Barbara Community College Luria Library is appreciative of donations from individuals, estates and other sources.  Several options for giving are available. Contributions are invested and managed to help meet the needs of the Luria Library which are not met through public funds.

Endowed Gifts

Donors can make a significant gift to the Luria Library with the establishment of an endowed fund. These funds exist in perpetuity, with the annual earnings providing vital support to deserving students and making important projects a reality at the Luria Library.

Donations to Library endowment funds provide long-term support for the library’s programs and services. You may add to or create an endowed fund that keeps the principal intake and uses only the income. You can establish a new endowed fund for a minimum of $2500 in your name or the name of someone you wish to memorialize.

Charitable Gift Annuity

A charitable gift annuity is a contract between you and our organization.  If you desire current income, you may transfer property in exchange for our promise to pay you fixed income beginning as early as this year. You will receive a current income tax charitable deduction for the value of your gift to the Luria Library.  If you decide to fund your gift annuity with cash, a significant portion of the annuity income will be tax-free.  You may make a gift of your appreciated securities to fund a gift annuity and avoid a portion of the capital gains tax.

A charitable bequest is one of the easiest ways you can leave a lasting impact on our library. Further, Donors may receive estate tax charitable deduction and essen the burden of taxes on your family. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust directing a gift to be made to the Luria Library as part of your estate plan.

A bequest may be made in several ways:

  • Gift of a percentage of your estate
  • Gift of a specific dollar amount or asset
  • Gift from the balance or residue of your estate
